In America, they call verrucas "plantar warts". I'm so glad I knew that before I went to ask for a verruca remedy at the pharmacy. "For a verruca" is a mouthful enough, without having to repeat it endlessly and pointlessly. I suppose I would have been reduced to miming. I wish I’d been there to see you do that worm mime.
