Rock On!

Jersey - a bit of it

Er, well, we seem to be moving to Jersey.
Old Jersey, not the new kind.

Back to The Rock for me…

Onward and upward to a new home, jurisdiction and culture for Mike, Ben and Hannah.

That powerpoint must have done the trick!

So now we have to sell the mansion in Plymouth to buy a studio apartment (aka bedsit) in Jersey.

I exaggerate, we don’t have a mansion, but we may well end up in a bedsit.

Still, I’m sure the beaches will be ample compensation.

Will this mean a teary farewell to the furnace?

Hope this is a good thing? I remember it as lovely as a child and everywhere so close to the beach.

Jersey is wonderful, beautiful and such a fun place to be. The bedsit will be worth it:)

    Crumbs! I feel surprisingly envious…

At least there isn’t much cleaning to do in a bedsit :0)

BM - not sure what you mean by furnace…

Mopsa - I’m excited, if a little nervous about the change in lifestyle. As long as the children adapt well it will be fine.

Georgie - I’ve been looking at house prices… shocking stuff after being away for ten years.

Jen - not much cleaning, and no room for all those toys I’ve been dying to chuck out for years!

A furnace is a boiler (international communications consultant here, ready for your every query - and we’ve just had ours serviced, so I know).

That’s a big move. I wish you very well with it.

Iota - thanks for the translation. I got into trouble aged 18 when I turned up in the USofA saying that Jersey was a holiday destination for people wanting cheap booze and fags!

Ok - why are you moving to Jersey? I leave your blog secure and happy and come back a few days later and it’s all change. Have you both got jobs there? Ou sont les Bergeracs d’autan? That’s what I want to know.

Crikey! How exciting. All that sea air, beautiful cows, no traffic. I’ve never been there, but I can dream, can’t I? Brilliant for the kids - don’t worry, they’ll be fine.

Sorry, I’m still waiting for my American to English translation program to be installed!

    Oooh how exciting!! Beaches…..beaches…..beaches….aaaaah.

Good luck with it all. I do hope this doesn’t mean you’ll stop blogging!

OM - It’s just me with the new job. I will do my utmost to Bring Back Bergerac when I arrive.

Mya - you’re right about the sea air and cows, but not about the traffic. There’s lots of it. You may be confusing Jersey with Sark.

BM - that’s alright. Iota did a stirling job on the translation front.

Mid - indeed there are many lovely beaches, and I will try to continue blogging, albeit at a slower rate I imagine. And I may have to move to another site…

    You what?

Jersey is the place you grew up from and left, and now you’re going back. I tried to relate to that, you see I grew up in Bexleyheath. OK.

Pennies are beginning to drop. I think you got an ace job with Radio Jersey or something. So now Mike is going to take over looking after the kids, and who knows even the blogging?

And by the way, how is Armey?

Or maybe I’m thinking of the Scilly Isles? I’m so addled and confused these days. Is Sark a real place? I thought it was a Mike Batt creation. Well, good luck and keep up the blog - I should imagine there will be a rich seam of blogging tales to mine.

Penny - how odd, I was born in Bexleyheath, but lived there only around 9 months. Job not with BBC, keep guessing! I will suggest that Mike takes over blogging - prepare for explosion visible from space.
Armey is back on form, doing handstands, cartwheels, trampolining and ballet.

Mya - Scilly Isles a very different kettle of fish. Not even sure we can take Sandy and Phoebe with us. Mike is prepared to smuggle them in, just to keep the family together. And yes, Sark is a real place. Didn’t Mike Batt do the Wombles?
